Benefit vs 2True Cheek & Lip Tints

Hi everyone, I'm sure you've seen plenty of posts lately, with the Benefit freebies in Glamour magazine, well I wanted to do a comparison between high end and drug store brand cheek and lip tints, for the drug store I have 2True Cheek n Lip Tint and 2True Pink Blush Cheek n Lip Tint ( which I have owned for quite a while now) to compare with Benefit Benetint and Benefit Posietint.

For anyone who hasn't heard of 2True they are a cosmetic brand available in Superdrug, which all products are £1.99 or three items for £5.

Here is my copy of Glamour and the samples of Benetint and Posietint

Now onto the comparisons, first up is 2True Cheek n Lip Tint vs Benefit Benetint

Swatches

2True & Benetint

As you can see from the swatches the 2True one looks more pink where as the Benetint looks more like a red colour, you can see this more in the swatch below

2True & Benetint

Next is 2True in Pink Blush and Benefits Posietint

2True Pink Blush & Posietint

The 2True one is a much brighter Barbie Pink than the Benefit one, but after they have been blended the results are very similar

2True Pink Blush & Posietint

2True Pink Blush  & Posietint

As you have seen from the swatches they are quite similar, you can tell which one is which with the Benetint and the original 2True Cheek n Lip Tint as the 2True one is more of a pink than red, but I can't honestly see that much difference between the 2True Pink Blush and Posietint other than you would have to be more careful applying the Pink Blush as it is a lot brighter, but when blended they look incredibly similar.

The main reason I wanted to do this comparison is because they have such a huge price difference, so I wanted to see if this price difference was justified.  The 2True Cheek & LipTints are £1.99 for 10ml each Benetint is £24.50 for 13.5ml & Posietint is £24.50 for 12ml now that's a massive difference considering how similar the products are. I personally wouldn't buy the Benefit ones when they are full price as I really couldn't justify spending that much when you can get an almost identical product for a fraction of the price.

Hope this helps someone saves some pennies, if they want a cheaper alternative to the samples they bought.

What do you think? a good dupe? Which one would you buy?

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

  1. It does make you wonder why everyone is so excited about the freebies when you're paying more for the magazine than it would cost you to get the 2true tint!!

  3. Hmmm, I use posietint everyday and I love it! I tried the red 2true product and really wasn't impressed, I found it too runny, it seemed to go everyone! The pink one looks more promising though so might give that a shot once I've finished my spending ban! haha xxx

  10. Thank you for this comparison - I didn't want to buy the Benefit ones in Glamour as I've heard that Benefit test (or are owned by a company who test) on animals, plus I think it is HUGELY overpriced. Plus I love 2True! Very happy to see these are so similar, I will certainly be picking up the 2True Rose tinted one! Thank you :) xx
